Kashmir University Protests against Rebel Professor's Killing.

Students of Kashmir University protested against the killing of university's assistant professor by the government forces during a gunfight in south Kashmir's Shopian on Sunday.

Reports are that many students and scholars gathered in the campus and took a demonstration in the favor of professor Mohammad Rafi Bhat organized a demonstration.

The protesting students were carrying a banner reading “In memory of Shaheed Dr Mohd Rafi and all those who died for our freedom.”

Associate Professor Mohd Rafi Bhat was killed along with four militants, including Hizb Commander Saddam Padder, in Badigam village of the district Shopian.

Dr. Rafi Bhat, a resident of Ganderbal, joined the militant ranks two days ago. Six civilians were also killed in the conflict with the forces that emerged near the gunfight place.

Students gathered at the university campus and raised slogans against militant and civilian killings. They also raised pro-independence and anti-India slogans.
