9-year-old boy injured in Sopore.


On Saturday evening, a 9-year-old boy was seriously injured  in Arampora area of Sopore village of Baramulla district of north Kashmir after paramilitary CRPF fired upon a group of protestors.


Official sources told the news agency GNS that the CRPF men used tear smoke balls, opened some rubber bullets and after a few air shots, after a group of youth stoned their vehicle around 7:15 pm in Arampora.

In the incident, Rizwan Ahmad Kaboo, a minor boy son of Reyaz Ahmad Kaboo of Arampora Sopore, sustained head injuries and was immediately taken to sub-district hospital, Sopore.


A doctor said that the boy was hit with "rubber bullet" in his head and thus referred to SKIMS Soura for special treatment.

When contacted by GSN, SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal said that in the evening at Arampora, a force vehicle was attacked by stone pelting group and in return the boy got minor injuries in action.

The SSP further said that the police is finding out what actually happened there. "We have filed a case and further investigation are being taken".
